Glass

We suggest that all glassware should be hand washed rather than put in the dishwasher as not only does it reduce the chance of breakages, but also the clarity of the glass will keep for a far longer length of time. Larger serving/ presentation pieces- such as jugs, trifle bowls & decanters, should never be put in the dishwasher.

Many of the glass items on NotJustJugs are mouth blown, and so it is characteristic that small air bubbles will be in some of the items. Solid air bubbles do not pose any problems when it comes to the safety of the glass nor its overall strength.

Ceramic

All of the ceramic items on NotJustJugs.com have been especially chosen as they are safe for use in the microwave, dishwasher, freezer and oven (up to 200°C). However you should never take an item from one extreme temperature to another. For example do not remove it from the freezer and put it straight in to the oven.

The only items which should never be put in the microwave are items with any gold or platinum decoration.
